Sunday evening brought Big Kenny of superstar country duo Big & Rich to my studio for a photo shoot in conjunction with Mocha Club.
Big Kenny is an active participant in African relief efforts, and he immediately agreed to do the shoot in an effort to continue raising support for these victims of crimes against humanity. Also included in the shoot was Eric Uwiringiyimana, a Rwandan refuge whose parents were killed in the genocide depicted in the film "Hotel Rwanda" starring Don Cheadle, which garnered him an Oscar nomination. Eric now lives in Middle Tennessee where he studies engineering and business administration.
Mocha Club's mission is tying two communities together, Africa & You. "It begins with you giving up $7 a month, the price of two mochas." In Africa, $7 will fee one person for a month, educate two children for a school term, save one person's life from malaria, provide clean water for seven Africans for one year.
Please visit www.mochaclub.org for more info about how you can help. Stay tuned for unveiling of the images. Cheers. -gregory byerline
